Jeremy Hanshaw’s journey with Capable NZ was transformational, enabling him to complete his doctorate while continuing his international consultancy work.
Jeremy is a transnational, transdisciplinary international higher education consultant currently based in Cambodia. He has 30 years of experience as an education practitioner.
Prior to beginning his doctorate, he completed a bachelor’s degree as well as postgraduate diplomas in education and management.
Capable NZ’s learning model was perfect for Jeremy’s lifestyle, allowing him to study and work at the same time.
“My supervisors broke the mahi into cognitively manageable chunks of learning.”
He was also awarded a scholarship to complete his doctorate, and Capable enabled him to divide the remaining programme costs into manageable instalments, which made the financial commitment much more achievable.
Jeremy says his supervisors provided outstanding support throughout the process.
“The amount of academic and personal support was formidable.”
A standout feature of his study was his transformation into an autonomous researcher, publishing in academic journals.
He describes his Capable NZ experience as transformational.
“I am now working at a completely different level and able to grapple with super complexity with humble confidence.”
Jeremy strongly recommends Capable NZ to others.
“Education is often the greatest means of transforming the human experience and Capable New Zealand makes this possible for the many, not just the few,” he says.
